Finlight API – Terms of Use

1. Use of the API
You may access and use the API for lawful purposes, in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the API complies with all applicable laws, including content usage, copyright, and data protection regulations.
2. API License
Subject to these Terms, Finlight grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the API solely for your internal business or personal use. You may not share, sublicense, or resell API access to any third party.
3. Third-Party Content Disclaimer
The API may return links, titles, summaries, or full text sourced from third-party websites. Finlight does not own, control, or grant rights to this content. All third-party content remains the intellectual property of the original publisher.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of any third-party content accessed via the API complies with applicable copyright laws, licensing restrictions, and source terms of service. Finlight does not authorize redistribution or republication of third-party content unless you hold a valid license from the content owner.
4. Attribution
When displaying or distributing content from the API, you must provide clear attribution to the original source. This includes naming the publisher and providing a direct link to the source article, if applicable. Optionally, attribution to Finlight (e.g., “Powered by Finlight API”) is encouraged.
5. API Key & Access Control
You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. You may not create multiple accounts to bypass usage limits. Abuse of the API, including scraping or reverse engineering, may result in suspension of access.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the API to redistribute copyrighted third-party content without authorization.
- Use the API to scrape or harvest data in violation of third-party website terms.
- Bypass rate limits or access restrictions.
- Use the API to create a competing news or content distribution service.
7. Content Removal & Rights Holder Requests
Finlight respects the rights of content owners. If you are a publisher or rights holder and believe your content is being used inappropriately, please contact us at info@finlight.me. We will investigate and remove content if necessary.
8. Modifications and Availability
We may update, modify, or discontinue the API (or any part of it) at any time. We aim to provide consistent availability but do not guarantee uptime or delivery timelines for any specific content source.
9. Limitation of Liability
Finlight is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the API or the content it provides. The API is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the API at our discretion. You may stop using the API at any time. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
